I’m currently working on a second novel with the tentative title of “The Gimlet Eye.” The story takes place in Palm Springs in 1966 and will feature at least two of the characters from Desert Fire: Aloysius Vega and Lily Navarro. The disappearance of a B-movie director becomes Vega’s first case as a newly credential private investigator. Along the way he meets a mysterious countess, a tantalizing young woman and a playboy gangster among other new characters. Vega’s taste for vodka martinis and perplexing cases remains unabated. I’m hoping to release “The Gimlet Eye” by December 2021.
